Match Preview – Huddersfield Town v Norwich City

March 12, 2010 in Match Preview, Norwich City FC by Nelson's Revenge

Huddersfield TownNorwich City head to the Galpharm Stadium this weekend to take on Lee Clarke’s side as the race for automatic promotion ramps up.

Lambert has no fresh injury problems ahead of the clash against an Huddersfield side that have not been beaten at home in the league all season.

Adam Drury returned to action having recovered from a thigh injury and  played more than an hour in the reserve match at Southend on Tuesday, and will make the trip to Yorkshire.

The City Boss also has Darel Russell at his disposal, having served his three match ban for his sending off against Southampton, and although the Canaries have won all three matches without Russell and are nine points clear of third place, Lambert may be inclined to recall the midfielder and revert to the diamond midfield formation, which has been so successful for most of this season.

Huddersfield are without Nathan Eccleston, who starts a three match ban for his red card in the 2-0 defeat at Gillingham last week, whilst Robbie Simpson is another absentee with a quad tear.

Lee Peltier could return after missing the defeats by Southampton and Gillingham with an ankle injury, and there could be a recall to the starting line up for Dean Heffernan and former Ipswich winger Gary Roberts.

Support goes from strength to strength

March 12, 2010 in News, Norwich City FC by Nelson's Revenge

Norwich CityIn a week that record numbers have renewed their season tickets for the 2010-11 season, City supporters will yet again emphasise their phenomenal level of support when they travel to Huddersfield this weekend.

By yesterday afternoon 2687 tickets had been purchased and the expectation is that the number of away supporters will exceed the 2875 who travelled to Millwall at the beginning of last month.

Huddersfield Town, whose average crowd is a little over 14000, are expecting one of their biggest attendances of the campaign, after City have been given extra tickets, taking their allocation to around 4000.

Huddersfield haven’t been beaten at The Galpharm this season, and Norwich remain League One’s highest scorers on the road, and it should make for a fantastic match with the stakes being high for both teams.

A win for City will add more weight to their automatic promotion push, whilst a win for Lee Clarke’s side will keep them in with a genuine shout of the play-offs.

March 12, 2010 in Norwich City FC, Predict the SCORE! by Nelson's Revenge

Norwich travel to the Galpharm Stadium this weekend to take on Lee Clarke’s 7th placed Huddersfield Town.

Darel Russell is likely to return for Paul Lamberts side, as Norwich embark on the first of three fixtures against fellow promotion chasers, and must look to pick up maximum points if they are to make their run in as painless as possible.

Huddersfield have not lost at home in the league this season, but have only picked up one point in their last three matches.
