End of the road for Theoklitos

December 1, 2009 in News, Norwich City FC by Nelson's Revenge

Michael TheoklitosMichael Theoklitos’s future at Norwich City again seems in doubt after Jed Steer was named in the match day squad for the first time in his career on Saturday, appearing to demote the Australian down to fourth choice for Paul Lambert.

The City boss said he will talk to the player about his Carrow Road future, but it seems inevitable that the goalkeeper will be told to look for another club, the same as has happened with unwanted striker Goran Maric.

It seems likely that Steer will remain on the bench for tonight’s League One clash at Southend, with the Academy product being the latest in a line of talented youngsters to force his way into first team.

Lambert has been quick to praise the work of Academy boss Ricky Martin and the City Boss has insisted that he will continue to keep throwing youngsters into the fray if he thinks they are good enough.
