Match Preview – Southampton v Norwich City
November 20, 2009 in Match Preview, Norwich City FC by Nelson's Revenge
Paul Lambert has no fresh injury worries ahead of tomorrows game at St. Mary’s and looks set to name an unchanged team against the Saints, who were beaten 3-1 at home by Brighton last weekend.
With no suspected changes Jon Otsemobor is set to make his 100th senior appearance for the club as City bid to maintain their promotion push against Alan Pardew’s side.
Otsemobor’s season has been disrupted by injury problems, but the defender completed his first full 90 minutes for nearly four weeks in last week’s 2-0 home victory over Tranmere Rovers.
Otsemobor joined City on a three year deal from Crewe in 2007, and has appeared in only 12 of City’s 22 games in all competitions this season.
Lambert, looks likely to continue with Fraser Forster in goal, after today securing the services of the goalkeeper until the end of the season, whilst Theoklitos looks set to be named on the bench as Declan Rudd is still troubled by a knee injury he sustained recently in training.
Alan Pardew is likely to let Wayne Thomas keep his place in the centre of defence, whilst Graeme Murty could force his way on to the bench after being sidelined since August with a knee injury.
The Saints, attracted their top gate of the campaign of 21932 last weekend for the visit of Brighton and the South Coast side are expecting one of their biggest attendances of the season tomorrow with another 21000 plus gate expected.
